Books list
I found this on my friend Julie's blog and thought I would give it a go.
The Big Read, an initiative by the National Endowment for the Arts, has estimated that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they’ve printed. How do you do?

1) Look at the list and color those you have read. (I did the ones I have read and my comments in blue)
2) Italicize those you intend to read. ( I put the ones I intend on reading in red as well)
3) Remark on the books you LOVE.

1 Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen - I love all of her books!! This movie is by BBC is the only one that does justice to the book.
2 The Lord of the Rings - JRR Tolkien- L
3 Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte- this is on my list of books I am going to read this year.
4 Harry Potter series - JK Rowling -I love these books. Do I get extra points for reading them more than 5 times???
5 To Kill a Mockingbird - Just started!!

The Bible. -It's great. Not since high school.
7 Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte-
8 Nineteen Eighty Four - George Orwell -In high school and I don't think I will read it again.
9 His Dark Materials - Philip Pullman-
10 Great Expectations - Charles Dickens 
11 Little Women - Louisa M Alcott -loved it.
12 Tess of the D’Urbervilles - Thomas Hardy- On my list.

4 Complete Works of Shakespeare-No, but I have read LOTS of them
15 Rebecca - Daphne Du Maurier -another on my list for this year.
16 The Hobbit - JRR Tolkien- ditto... Does half way then giving up count?
17 Birdsong - Sebastian Faulks
18 Catcher in the Rye - JD Salinger I read it a long time ago and loved it.
19 The Time Traveller’s Wife - Audrey Niffenegger I really want to!
20 Middlemarch - George Eliot .
21 Gone With The Wind - Margaret Mitchell At least 4 or 5 times!
22 The Great Gatsby - F Scott Fitzgerald -This is one that I read every few years. I loved the movie. I am in love with Robert Redford.
23 Bleak House - Charles Dickens
24 War and Peace - Leo Tolstoy Half Way!
25 The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams
26 Brideshead Revisited - Evelyn Waugh. On my list.
27 Crime and Punishment - Fyodor Dostoyevsky
28 Grapes of Wrath - John Steinbeck This is another one that I don't remember much about.
29 Alice in Wonderland - Lewis Carroll -I thought this was a fun read. 
30 The Wind in the Willows - Kenneth Grahame -Brian read this to me and the girls.
31 Anna Karenina - Leo Tolstoy On my list....

33 Chronicles of Narnia - CS Lewis - I Loved them all.
34 Emma - Jane Austen
35 Persuasion - Jane Austen
36 The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe - CS Lewis

38 Captain Corelli’s Mandolin - Louis De Bernieres
39 Memoirs of a Geisha - Arthur Golden -Good book
40 Winnie the Pooh - AA Milne - Yep
41 Animal Farm - George Orwell
42 The Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown-

43 One Hundred Years of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez I really want to read this one!!!
44 A Prayer for Owen Meaney - John Irving
45 The Woman in White - Wilkie Collins
46 Anne of Green Gables - LM Montgomery -My favorite book as a child (and series) and still is. 
47 Far From The Madding Crowd - Thomas Hardy
48 The Handmaid’s Tale - Margaret Atwood
49 Lord of the Flies - William Golding -Not my favorite.
50 Atonement - Ian McEwan-the movie made me so sad that I don't think I can read the book.

54 Sense and Sensibility - Jane Austen- I really liked it.

Wow... 53....I'll have to revisit this list after this year is over.

Hey- did you notice it says posted by doug and cheryl! Haha.
I see you love Robert Redford. Me too. I'm kind of almost related to him. Not really. I'm related through marriage to his kids. He married Lola Van Wagenen and they had children and divorced. She is related to Doug (obviously).

Wow, you've read a lot more. Oby says, "Reading the book ruins the movie." LOL. I've read quite a few, but probably half of what you've read. My favorite on the list is Little Women. I'll have to try a few of the others.... Maybe. ;o)

We have teased your mom for years about that infamous day!! I have to tell you I get the biggest kick out of making fun of my mom and Linda on my blog. They are just such great targets! I told the whole family no one is exempt from my endless torment when it comes to my blog. Taylor is scared stiff to be living here. Oh well I'm sure I'll get mine from someone.
